Abstract:
The interstage crossover is an important component in multi-stage centrifugal turbopumps. It has a significant effect on the performance of pump. On the basis of investigating overseas' advanced configurations, four possible design methods for the vaned cross-over configuration are proposed. The cross-over region for a multistage liquid hydrogen pump is designed with these methods whose correctness is validated. Every configuration is analyzed with CFD. The Centerline Circle Section Method is the best one for reducing flow losses.
