Abstract:
Water-based propulsion system for advanced spacecraft applications has enabled new options for spacecraft propulsion, power, energy storage, and structure。At the heart of this system is a unitized regenerative fuel cell that uses electrical energy from the vehicle's solar army to convert water into its constituents of hydrogen and oxygen which can be burned to generate thrust or recom— bined to produce electric power. The components and the working principle of the water-based propulsion system ale introduced。Through mass estimation and performance analysis, the work capacity of the water rocket and its application field afe pointed.
