Abstract:
The method, procedure and specifications of non-cyanide zinc plating process are introduced, in which NaOH is used instead of NaCN. The influence of additive concentration, ZnO concentration, NaOH/ZnO ratio and current density on the deposition rate, appearance, corrosion resistance and hydrogen brittleness of zinc coating was investigated. Optimal electroplating solution composition and process specifications for non-cyanide zinc plating were obtained. The products electroplated with the specifications were verified by 200 h tensile testing for hydrogen brittleness.
