Abstract:
The experimental study on atomization formation and size distribution of water droplets from the impinging liquid jets was executed in atmosphere environment by using PDPA and high speed dynamic analysis system. The movement and the size distribution of droplets were analyzed. It is found that the radial velocity of droplets on horizontal plane is centrosymmetric and increases as the increasing distance from the center to the measuring point. The size distribution of droplets in the initial stage of atomization is contrary to that of radial velocity. It is believed that the initial velocity of atomization droplets and the size distribution of droplets during the initial stage of atomization are both influenced by the movement of liquid sheet.
